Bourke Street can be a dangerous place to head for your bank balance. With many of Melbourne CBD’s luxury boutique stores and top retail and fashion brands calling this prime location home, it truly is a shoppers’ paradise. The road leading up to the mall is only serviced by pedestrians and trams, for a relaxing shopping experience.
Travelling to Bourke Street Mall is very easy for guests of The Westin Melbourne. Hop on any tram along Swanston or Elizabeth Street heading towards Bourke Street, and you will be in the middle of the action in less than one minute. Alternatively, the mall is only 2 blocks north of The Westin, which is less than 5 minutes on foot.
Whether you choose to shop at the boutiques such as Zara, Bardot and Sportsgirl or expansive department stores like Myer and David Jones, Bourke Street Mall is the place for any avid shopper.

David Jones and Myer
The two largest residents of Bourke Street are David Jones and Myer. Occupying three buildings, stocked like a treasure trove of luxury goods, David Jones is Australia’s premium department store. Immediately next door is Myer, whose nine-story flagship store towers over Bourke Street, delivering a broad range of consumer goods across clothing, footwear, cosmetics, homeware, toys and more.
The General Post Office as it once was has since been renovated and converted into a beautiful expansive contemporary retail experience. Head to the GPO to find some fantastic restaurants serving exceptional food from around the world, or to find the first Australian H&M, with their full range of homewares, fashion and cosmetics.
Melbourne Visitor Booth
The visitor booth can be found midway along the mall and is a fantastic location to pick up some handy tips and tricks for getting around town, finding the best prices and meeting some of Melbourne’s friendliest volunteers and staff.
